Music carries with it many dangers. This is especially true for those in your situation. Songs can stir feelings within you that you may not have otherwise have. When a person sings a song repeatedly over and over, the words of that song work their way into the persons heart. This is where it gets dangerous. There are many songs dealing with affairs. The WORST is “If You Can’t Be With the One You Love, Love the One Your With”. The song is catchy, but the message in it has led to numerous heartaches. I recognize that there are many other songs, but the wording on this one is exceptionally dangerous. When a person is in ‘robot-mode’ and not thinking, the words of such a song rattling around in their head is a recipe for trouble.
During your time of recovery, make it a point to change the music you listen to. Heavy diets of sensuous music, affair music or crying in your beer music can agitate the whole situation. Although there are times that you want to ‘numb’ yourself out, do it with music that does not have dangerous messages embedded within them.
Best Regards,
