In Italy, the high court has declared that extra-marital affair besmirch the honor of the Carabinieri policemen. These policemen are to be exemplary in their conduct both on and off duty. It is sad, that with many law enforcement agencies, rather than being the moral example, members have been found guilty of unseemly behavior. Research has been done revealing that extramarital affairs are common with American police officers. Part of the danger with such behavior is that it does affect how the officer will view situations. It will affect their objectivity. Look at the case of David Camm, a former Indiana State Trooper who killed his wife and two children. Camm had a reported history of extra marital affairs. In his case, the affair was not a victimless crime. Infidelity is a matter of life and death. Having an affair is akin to emotional Russian roulette, where chances are taken on how people will react to the situation.
