70-year old Caterina Annarumma made an astonishing disclosure to a daughter who finally found her. She revealed to her that she had had 13 children from an affair and had sold or given them up for adoption. Although she finally married her paramour, the children were to ones who suffered as a result of the affair and its consequences. Affairs are not victimless situations. In those situations, people are hurt, and in most cases it is the children. The children had done nothing wrong, yet were put in a positions of estrangement in order to allow the affair to go on.
