When I was playing football on the school team, I was taught many ways of taking down the man with the ball. Although tackling looks easy on television, doing it requires hours of practice.

In a moment, your life changes. Rather than flying through the air, you go into an emotional free fall.
The sudden loss of control and connection makes you feel out of control. All your plans and intentions are suddenly turned topsy-turvy.
In my mind, when an affair strikes like this, there is betrayal involved as well. This is not a stumble you easily recover from. In this case things were hidden from you to where you were blind-sided.
What’s important in these situations is to get back up. It was a setback, yet you don’t have to let it be a long-term state for you. Get up from what happened.
