Your most important choice in Affair Recovery

When it comes to golf, I’m pretty ignorant. Although I’ve played a few times, there’s so much more to learn. It’s a game where there’s always more to learn.

Some of the things I’ve learned from golf include an appreciation of being on golf courses and the wisdom gained from older golfers. Old golfers, regardless of how well they play have insights and observations worth paying attention to.

The legendary golfer Ben Hogan had some wonderful insights. One was “The most important shot in golf is the next one.”

Although his insight seems like common sense, its’ a lesson worth remembering. It even has application for affair situations. My variation of it is “The most important choice you make in recovering from an affair is the next one.” This has many applications in affair recovery.

You can’t change the choices you’ve already made or take back what you’ve already said. What you do have control of are the choices you make and what you say going forward. You have control over the next choice you make.

The choices you make shape the direction that affair recovery goes. Those choices either push the two of you further apart or draw the two of you closer to each other.

Your choice of words make a difference. Choosing what to do next points your marriage toward the next step.

You choose rather to move forward or backwards. Rehashing old fights is a sure way of heading backwards. If not backwards, it keeps you going in circles, fighting the same old fights over the same old topics.

Repeating yourself amounts to relationship reruns. You may feel good saying it, but consider whether or not it’s brought any healing to your marriage.

If you want to make the next choice count and move forward, click and download the Affair Recovery Workshop. Inside you’ll find instruction, direction and guidance in making that next choice.

The workshop also includes what not to do, so that you can avoid bad choices. When you can know ahead of time where those bad choices take you, it motivates you in making better choices.
