Affairs often take you further than you ever imagined going. The events making up the affair also happen quicker than you ever imagined.
Beginning an affair is akin to starting a nuclear chain reaction. It is often easier to start such than it is to end them.
I was reminded of this when I saw a story about how a naval submarine officer ended up faking his own death in order to end the affair. His choices ended up terminating his career as well.
He may have been an excellent officer, but the affair ruined it all. You may be a good physician, lawyer, teacher or other profession. One affair can end all that you have spent years accomplishing. The affair not only brings things to an end, they end in a powerful destructive manner. You may assume that you have control over your emotions and the relationship, but that is part of the deceit of an affair. You’re never in control.

That article and so many reports like that SHOULD be a fair warning to people…but just like a bad auto accident people feel sadness for others but think “That would never happen to ME” ….WOW …what arrogance lust encourages!

AND WILL make manifest the counsels of the hearts:

OR NOT ! The truth ‘has come’ …it is available to learn and live by it ….it just takes WANTING TO ….and realizing the VALUE of living by the laws of truth which protect those wise enough to ‘get’ the point …GOD LOVES us …but HE cannot MAKE us DO …HE made us in HIS image …and He has a LOT invested in making truth available to us for us to seek and find …BUT WE have to make the choice to DO SO .
I realize the way deceit had worn away people’s attention to this truth ….but even if EVERYONE takes the view that the Word of GOD is not worth the time ..may I quote every mother’s lament….”If everyone jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge would YOU DO IT TOO!!!?”

AND THE PRIDE OF LIFE….., is NOT OF the Father, but is of the world.
There are the three clear stated areas of our challenge to purity and holiness….mentally ,…in the heart ..these are areas that the WORD as we put it in …defends and protects.
ARGH ..Natural man either denies that there IS a GOD so he can do whatever he wants. ..but doing so he also remains ignorant or underestimates the ENEMY of the soul . The Devil does not honor man’s FREE WILL and will persistently apply pressure or offerings of pleasure until a person succumbs to the ways that lead to death .
Suggestions and influences that urge us to disregard the moral core of our conscience are not a ‘trend’ they are one of the main reasons GOD has revealed his WORD to those who care to listen …they are PROTECTIVE …argh ..but many do not get that memo and feel that GOD is ‘mean’ ‘restrictive’ and ‘unfair’! They have bought the enemy’s lies and propaganda..
HOW do I know …I had to come OUT of that darkness..and it was not through religion but through the knowledge and application of the word OR through foolishness that was either rebellion or ignorance
BUT GOD is GRACIOUS..He did not apply the word to my life but DID make THE WAY for me to follow and then live by HIS wisdom ..and we GROW ..through doing that
OR we stay committed to rebelling…suffer more and more through sin and consequences and end up a damaged and woeful soul …ONLY by wisely submitting to what JESUS informed us of will we escape the constant effects of the Devil who has a LOT of a head start on knowing people’s vulnerable parts…But God reveals to us those areas that need protection and preparation to stay safely withing His keeping .
It is free will obedience to learn and obey the Lord that we are really set upon a path of living within HIS care ….it is WORTH any sacrifice to gain being IN HIS life.
Gal 5:16 [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
1Cr 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you BUT such as COMMON to man:
BUT God [is] FAITHFUL, who will NOT suffer [permit / allow] you to be tempted ABOVE THAT YE ARE ABLE
but will [along ] WITH the temptation ALSO MAKE A WAY TO ESCAPE make a way to escape,
that YE MAY BE ABLE TO BEAR IT
When we are submitting to the LORD ..HIS WORD …thinking what He thinks about whatever the temptation we may experience is …then WE will be IN the same process of ‘resisting the devil ‘ and as this process goes on mentally we will obey that godly thought and it will be ‘resisting ‘ at the same time …one cannot think TWO thoughts at the same TIME ..thus …the ‘devil will flee from you’
This is the practical side of renewing our minds. It takes desire to do so because we understand it is GOOD FOR US …and for all ….AND it gives ‘pause for the cause’ of obeying righteousness and building our strength mentally , emotionally and spiritually to overcome when the various temptations come into our path.
Like any exercise it takes diligent effort to change a habit …be it mental or any other…to change toward living life in a healthy and holier way we need to recognize OUR part in the process …many think that once they claim Jesus Christ they have no more effort to make in any way …this leads to further situations that are harmful and damaging ..we are told in so many areas of scripture ‘NOT to be IGNORANT’ ..and to STUDY and learn …a proud person or a lazy person will remain at risk if they refuse to take the offer Jesus Christ makes to ‘whomsoever will come’
1Jo 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof:
BUT
HE THAT DOETH the WILL of GOD …abideth [lives] forever.
Because the WILL is the WORD of GOD and HIS WORD is HIS SPIRIT and HIS SPIRIT is ETERNAL LIFE and if it is IN one and one is obedient to LIVE IN it …that eternal life is IN that person …as they ‘continue in his word ‘
Jhn 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed;
I pray that people would consider going ANY distance either mentally or physically outside of their marriage to be a ‘country TOO FAR” and being in the ‘far country’ as the story of the Prodigal Son goes still has a road home as long as the prodigal is LIVING and desires to change .
I am glad that you were able to escape that other lifestyle. I am reminded that anything worth having requires effort, including marriage. If you just ‘float along’ the river of life, never putting forth effort to change, you are no more special than a dead fish.
