Lessons from deer

I often watch and observe the deer where I live. In watching them, I was reminded of the references in the Bible to deer. The deer is often used to illustrate marriage relationships. When they scatter or run off, the deer then stop and look back. When there is no real danger, they return. They maintain frequent eye contact with each other.

From their examples, couples would benefit from being willing to come back to their spouses. When they become alarmed, they may put some space between themselves and the percieved danger, but there is always the willingness to return. Many conflicts would be resolved or worked through if couples were willing to return to their spouses and return to being in relationship with them. There are times that we all feel threatened and need some space. When your spouse knows that these are not permanant departures, there is an increased security in the relationship.

There are lessons that can be learned from the deer. There are also dangers, when you are in a relationship with a hunter/predator rather than a fellow deer. If your spouse is a predator, RUN and do not return. If they are not, then you may want to consider returning to them.
