Paranoia, Trust and the Affair

When you’ve been let down by your spouse with an affair, you find yourself distrusting them and others. It’s hard trusting what anyone says to you.

During such times, you find yourself feeling paranoid. You wonder if other people are going to be like your spouse and betray you. You wonder what they say about you.

You find yourself painting other people with a broad brush since they may be like your spouse. Anyone who reminds you of your spouse or their ways are automatically considered ‘untrustworthy’.

Your lack of trust spreads faster and broader than ever imagined. Outsiders may think that you are being ‘paranoid’.

They don’t understand that you just don’t trust them, and in many cases, even yourself. You have been hurt and you do not want more hurt.

The very people who you trusted let you down and now you are alone with the burden of knowing who or what to trust.

The difficulty trusting is even worse if you’ve got a history of being abused or neglected. When that happens you see a long pattern of people letting you down.

During such times, you feel like you are loosing your mind.  The world feels strange and threatening. It’s natural that you go through this uneasy time of not knowing who to trust or what your next step is.

The ability to trust will eventually return. You can learn to trust again with the information in the video “How Can I Trust You Again?“. You’ll learn how you can trust him and even yourself again.

You can move out of the paranoia and learn ways of trusting again. These methods are not based on just having faith or hoping for the best. There are concrete steps you can take with trust and have a solid basis on which to build trust and know whether or not someone is trustworthy.

Best Regard,

Jeff
