Two simple truths about Affairs

From time to time it’s important to revisit some basic truths. I’ve learned that there are times when mastering the basic truths make a difference in how things turn out.

When I tried my hand at golf, I learned that simple things like follow through and keeping your eye on the ball really do make a difference. Although I never fully mastered those basics as well as I wanted, it did make a difference in my game.

Even the simple task of holding the golf club goes back to basic truths. The basic truth is that there’s a wrong way to do it and a right way to do it.

When it comes to affairs and recovering from them, there are also basic truths. Remembering those basic truths keep you from many heartaches.

One basic truth is that being married won’t protect your spouse from homewreckers. That sounds simple, yet many of you have learned the hard way that just wearing a wedding ring is not enough to deter some homewreckers.

Wedding rings are not longer viewed as someone being ‘off limits’ to potential lovers. In some ways, it signals that they are easier prey than those without them.

Another basic truth is that having children will stop a homewrecker. Although some lovers hit the brakes at the mention of children, you can’t count on it.

Even when the cheater talks about being married and having children, it does little to slow down determined homewreckers. Many continue full speed ahead without a second thought.

If you are hoping that a wedding ring and pictures of the two of you or the family will slow or stall trouble, you’re mistaken. Those things aren’t even much of a speed bump when it comes to slowing things down.

If you were putting your faith in the ring and the pictures, it wasn’t a strong enough deterrent from affairs. Those things won’t keep affair relapse from happening either.

You need better preventatives and a stronger affair relapse plan.

At the Restored Lifestyle site, you’ll find forums, programs and resources focused on helping you.  You’d also find a list of things you can do beyond putting your faith in rings and pictures.

Talking with others will help you with real life situations and real life solutions beyond the basics. You need stronger methods that work.

Keeping It Real,

Jeff
