Unwanted and Annoying Guests in your head

The great thing about annoying and unwanted characters is the movies is that you can turn them off.  When you grow tired of their intrusiveness and annoying ways, you can be rid of them.

It may be their voice, their attitude or even their looks that bother you. Whatever bothers you, it comes to an end.

I looked up one of those list with the 25 most annoying characters from movies. Although I agree with many of the selections, I have my own list of annoying people. I would also add annoying commercials to my list of unwanted bothers in my life.

Things that bother me are scratchy voices, intrusiveness, whining and rudeness. It must be the therapist in me that seeks identification of what about them bothers me.

Unfortunately real life doesn’t follow the same rules. When intrusive and unwanted thoughts come into your mind, you can’t just turn them off.

Day and night they live in your head ready to torment you.

No matter how annoying they are, these don’t end when you press the off button. Like an unwanted house guest, they come in and won’t leave.

Even a few minutes with them is enough to rob you of your self-confidence. They party in your head anytime they want and leave behind doubt, guilt and fear.

They are also rude guests in terms of keeping you up at night, and barging into your private places without permission. They won’t let you have a moment of peace and quiet.

Those rude, intrusive and unwanted thoughts are even worse when you find yourself not just dealing with an affair, but with a sexual addiction. Affair thoughts are bad enough, but with the addiction, they are tormenting.

It’s as if you have you are in your own private torture chamber in your head, where they do their worst to you.  This is part of the pain that comes with sexual addiction.

In the special October report for members of the Restored Lifestyle community, I deal with sexual and love addiction. The report, “Understanding the Dark World of Sexual Addiction and Affairs” helps you understand what you are facing in order to deal with it.

If you are plagued by the intrusive unwanted thoughts, you’re not  alone. This is part of what comes with living with a sex addict. Find out more in the special report.

Keeping It Real,

Jeff
