I need to connect with others …

It never ceases amazing me how God works in mysterious ways I couldn’t ever imagine. About the time a reader wrote, “ I need to connect with others who have been through similar situations”, I found myself going through a situation where that applied.

In my case, it is a relocation. I am being moved out of my home and into another temporary residence while mine is repaired.

Although I’ve been told it’s temporary, that does little in the way of calming me down. It reminds me how much I rely on familiar surroundings and loved ones in making it though daily challenges.

It gave me a new glance into the challenge faced by a family member who went through a similar situation just a few months ago. It’s not just a relocation, it’s a disconnect.

Some days, I just want to make it through the next few hours. When my surroundings were suddenly decided by people I don’t even know, it surrounds me with uncertainty. Although I know I’ll make it through, I still experience the emotional storm.

There are sensations of fear, being out of control, being tired, having to be careful what I say and times I don’t care what I say or who I say it to. Each of these sensations and experiences have their own temptations.

It was during that time, that I encountered the readers note ” I need to connect with others who have been throughout similar situations.” I said to myself, you’re absolutely right.

There’s something about connecting with others who are going through what you are experiencing. They may not be saying anything different than what you’ve heard. You just want reassurance that you’re not alone in your struggles.

When going through struggles, doing it alone leaves you feeling overwhelmed and like you are a social outlier. You start wondering if you are weird for feeling what you’re experiencing.

There’s a comfort in knowing others have made it through. In her case, she wants a support for those struggling with the swinger lifestyle and wanting to talk about it.

I want to see marriages, including swinger marriages recover from affairs.  If you are interested in being a part of such a group, let me know. We are at www.RestoredLifestyle.com

If you want to use an alias or avatar email, I understand. The site has that capability.

It’s a place for connecting with others going through similar situations.

Keeping It Real,

Jeff
