Navigating Chaos and Police Chases

Running from the police is quite an experience. I’ve been involved in two incidents. Both  of my running episodes involved the Pasadena Police. The two incidents were dramatically different and left me with some unique perspectives.

The first episode involved the Pasadena police suddenly converging on a parking lot one night. I suppose it was their way of breaking up teenagers loitering and possible street racing.

The moment they showed up, with screeching brakes and bright spotlights, chaotic panic broke out. Everyone scrambled for their cars and looking for any way out. Fear took over and it was ‘every man for himself’.’

The second episode involved friends talking outside at night. On hearing the sound of the local police helicopter, one of my friends took off running down the street. Within seconds, the spotlight was flipped on, bringing instant daylight to the street and we were bent over laughing.

We waved the helicopter on and had some good laughs.

In both incidents, the situation changed rapidly, each was chaotic in their own way. In the midst of the chaos, protocol and rules are temporarily suspended and everything is up for grabs. In one case, it was a mad getaway, in the other the meaning of a running man made for grins and giggles.

When it comes to affair recovery, there are times when chaos suddenly changes things. It may events at work, the police, the courts or an accident. The whole nature of chaos is a sudden surprise event that changes things.

When chaos hits, you find out what can and can’t be managed. You find out how committed to recovery the cheater really is. It’s during those sudden changes, you see where the cheater really is and what is really important for them.

It’s during those chaotic times that relapse is very tempting for cheaters. They want a fast solution to the emotions churned up by the chaos.

Although you can’t predict when chaos comes, you can have a relapse prevention plan in place where you and they know who to call and what to do when chaos comes. Chaos will come, it’s just a matter of when it comes your way.

You can either have a plan in place for those situation or hope that the cheater can find their way through the chaos without one. This amounts to throwing them into deep water without direction or assistance, yet hoping that they can handle it.

They will find a way out, yet their choice may not be what you hoped for. Their choice may not be in the best interest of your marriage. Is that a risk you are willing to take when you don’t have to?

With the video, “Preventing Affair Relapse” you can have your plan for chaos and relapse prevention in place. The chaos doesn’t have to catch you unprepared. You can instead have a plan in place. You and the cheater can know what you’ll do, who you’ll call and what the next step is.

Keeping It Real,

Jeff
