What should I look for in friends?

Amidst the confusion in the aftermath of an affair, things become confused. There is often a fog in the brain when it comes to thinking and seeing things clearly. This effects many areas of one’s life, including when it comes to selecting friends. During this ‘foggy’ time, selecting friends can become a daunting task. Below are some things to look for to make sure you are dealing with friends and not vultures.

1. Do they listen to you?

2. Are they willing to confront you when you are wrong?

3. Do they have the same values you do?

4. Are they committed to doing what is the right thing?

5. Do they hear you out before judging the actions?

6. Are they willing to cry with you? pray with you? laugh with you?

7. Are they sober?

8. Can they keep your confidences?

9. Do you have to hide your relationship with them?

10. Do you feel safe around them?

This list will not eliminate all the potential hazards, but it will reduce them.
