Health problems and affairs

Although the cheater may jump mindlessly into an affair, it does not prevent the health problems that often accompany affairs. The cheater may tell you that they are happier than they have ever been, yet their body tells you something different.

You already know about the possible sexually transmitted diseases, so I will bypass those today. Besides the STD’s there are many other health related issues that go back to affairs. In some of these cases, the affair may not have caused them, but the affair did contribute to them in a major way.

1. Sleep problems. There are often difficulties with sleeping that afflict those having affairs.
2. High blood pressure. The blood pressure system often reacts to emotional upheavals in a person’s life, including affairs.
3. Ulcers. Affairs often bring worry and the somatic issues that often come with worry.
4. Urinary infections or inflammations. Exposure to the lover’s strange new body and all its fluids often brings urinary problems with them.
5. Digestive problems. Taking on a new lover is very similar to making changes in one’s diet. It brings emotional and physical changes to the body chemistry. Among these changes are digestive problems.

These are just a few to start with. When I look at this list, I notice that it has a lot in common with the medications that are often advertised on television. Coincidence? I don’t think so. I am reminded of something a wise physician once told my father. he said that 90% of the people coming to see him were for psychosomatic issues. When I see the list of health problems related to affairs, it makes me wonder how many health problems are actually the body ‘telling’ on the person for poor choices they are making for their lives?
