Ho-Ho-Ho’s on the Holidays and Infidelity

Infidelity never takes a holiday. If anything, cheaters thrive more during the holidays than at other times. They often take the holidays as a green light to indulge. With that in mind, you need to be alert to danger signs you may see on the holidays. Below are a few of the things to be on the look out for during the holiday season.

1. Spending additional hours away from home for vague or unclear reasons.
2. Increased secretiveness regarding their cell phone or vehicle
3. The passenger seat in their car is not where it usually is.
4. Strange hairs or smells on them when they come home.
5. Lack of boundaries at family get-togethers.
6. Hiding credit card receipts
7. Spending more time on the phone or computer than usual

There may also be more Ho-Ho-Ho’s trying to hit on your spouse. Be alert that there are some people who use the holidays to make advances on your spouse, especially if they have a history of cheating. (Nothing makes for an easier affair than someone who has had an affair before).

If you are in the process of recovering from an affair, the holidays have opportunities and challenges. Use the holiday as a way to improve your marriage and family relationships. Use it to bond with them rather than a reason to party. The celebrations may bring many reminders of the affair. Change those traditions that remind you of the affair and use the holidays as a time to do a make-over.
