Some modern thinkers view sin, and human depravity as a consequence of the environment and inadequate education. You know from your marriage that that line of thinking is wrong-headed. The cheater likely knows plenty about cheating and sex. What they don’t know, there are many magazines, movies and books to show them and teach them more. If depravity is a result of inadequate education, then we should have the most moral generations on the face of the earth with everything they know about sex and infidelity.
As you know the answer to your cheaters infidelity is not for them to learn more about cheating, the answer lies in them stopping what they are doing. They need to make moral choices, they need to do the ‘right’ things in terms of godly morals rather than judging what is right by what makes them feel good. It is by doing what felt good that got them into the trouble in the first place. The depravity of affairs does not stem from environment or education, it stems from self-centered thinking. You already know how their mind twists and distorts things. Educating it further is only going to lead to more twisted thinking. It was their twisted thinking about marriage, themselves, sex and relationships that set the stage for problems.
In ‘untwisting’ their thinking, they will need accountability and encouragement in doing the right thing. Twisted thinking leads to twisted choices, moral thinking leads to moral choices.
