The Decay of Love

One of the issues that you will find that often underlies affairs is the ‘decay of love’. Have you ever considered who is responsible for the decay of love in a marriage? You and your spouse may even debate and argue over who is responsible for what happened. More that likely, you are looking for who is to blame for the love decaying. It is true that love changes over time. Despite those time related changes, actions can be taken to prevent the decay of love or in the aftermath of an affair, the revitalization of love. The coldness of the decay is not something that happens suddenly. It often occurs gradually. It occurs by means of acts of ingratitude, ungratefulness, selfishness, and provocation. When enough of those acts pile up, it is inevitable that love begins the decay process.

When decay sets in, the love does not have to die. Steps can be taken to revive the love and reverse the decay. Although either party can start the reversal, in my mind the onus is on the husband to start the process by initiating acts of love, affirmation and caring toward your wife.
