Stupid Things People Say About Affairs

People  say stupid things about affairs. You may even found yourself saying some stupid things about affairs.

I often check out the advertising for affairs “Life is Short, Have an Affair!” is a popular one. The saying is catchy but stupid. It’s nothing more than the latest packaging of the old Schlitz beer ads that proclaimed “You only go around once in life..”

Such thinking is in justifying many things. Such ads often give a potential cheater who is indecisive a push in the direction of the affair. These are variations of ‘YOLO‘ (You Only Live Once) themes.

Another variant is “Bored? Have an affair!” I can think of better ways to add excitement to one’s life rather than the high drama and pain associated with affairs.

Such “life is short..” type slogans can be used in justifying many things. It encourages risk taking, yet often in the wrong direction.

You can see the logic used when you insert other destructive behavior such as “Life is short, try suicide“, “Life is short, arson is the answer” , “Life is short, irradiate yourself till you glow” or any number of undesirable and destructive behaviors.

Other slogans used to motivate the teetering cheater to act on their impulse are slogans like “It’s between two consenting adults”  along with variants of that logic.

Such thinking implies that only the cheater and the lover are involved. An affair can’t be contained. It impact MORE than just the two childish adults.

It spreads. Like radioactivity, it spreads destruction over a wider area than imagined, poisoning relationships, devastating families and ruining your health.

There are also the personal ad types, which ask you to have an affair with them NOW. They often use suggestive names like “Sexy”, or “Vixen”. Such an approach makes them look like easy hook ups for the cheater.

If they were honest, they should use names like “homewrecker” “VD haven” “easy diseased lay” “Skanky Sally” “Scab bucket” or “corrupted to the core”. Such names would be more honest, although they wouldn’t have the same appeal to potential cheaters.

Many of the ads for affairs appeal to the ‘fantasy’ instead of telling of the reality. They want to resonate with the fantasy often already in play in the cheater’s mind. They want the cheater to react without thinking.

They want non-logical, pure emotional choices. In other words they want the cheater to be stupid and just simply react to what they are being told.

If you want to know what the cheater was thinking, examine the ads they were feeding on. The ads will let you know what their fantasy really is. It will tell you which fantasy is activating their “GO” switch and making them take action.

I consider each of these in the category of stupid, since they are designed for triggering quick reactions without thinking. They operate on emotion and fantasy.

They count on the cheaters brain being in ‘neutral’ or in the ‘off’ mode.  They work on triggering cheaters to take action. They cater to stupid.

Best Regards,

Jeff
