What Cenotes can teach you about Infidelity Statistics

Have you ever gone cenote diving? It is quite an experience if you’ve never tried it. In the Yucatan area of Mexico, the countryside is dotted with numerous cenotes. These are deep pools of water in the limestone rocks. In some cases, the entrances look like a small pond, yet in other cases, the entrance is nothing more than a hole in the rocks.

The first cenote I dove into was one of those holes in the rocks. I had no idea of how far I would fall before hitting the water, nor how deep the water was. I just took a leap of faith through the hole and went down, down, down before hitting the cold water in that underground cave.

In a similar way, when I deep dive into infidelity statistics, I’m never sure what will turn up. I periodically deep dive as a way of discovering the ‘state of affairs’ with infidelity. Each dive turns up something new and revealing.

In my latest dive, ‘why’ questions continue being the leading search term, with ‘how’ questions slightly behind. This tells me that the search for motivation behind affairs remains paramount. You want to know ‘why’ the affair happened. Even though ‘why’ questions confuse communication, they remain the leading item searched for.

I’m encouraged at the high number of ‘how’ questions. Couples are now looking for the how issues surrounding affairs, whether how to end the affair, how to overcome the affair or how to tell if your spouse still loves you. This tells me that an increasing number of you are not just posing questions, you’re searching for clear answers.

Those seeking answers are also pretty evenly split between men and women. It’s no longer dominated by women who want answers regarding a cheating husband. Men now want answers regarding their cheating wives in about a 50-50 split.

Like diving into a cenote, there eventually comes a time you stop falling and hit the water. When the time comes for you to quit asking all the questions about ‘why’ the affair and are ready to move toward fixing things, we have the resources that can turn your situation around.

It’s not by accident that trust and trust falls go together. There is a leap of faith you take when you jump. If trust is missing in your marriage, you’ll want the ‘How Can I Trust You Again?‘ video which takes you deep into parts of your relationship that have been neglected for a while. When there’s an affair you need something stronger than a band-aid in dealing with the damage done.

Best Regards,

Jeff
