Putting up with bad habits in your marriage

During the time of raising my sons, one of the popular cultural icons were the Chevron cars. They were cute and appealed to my sons.

One of the slogans used in the campaign consisted of the benefits of cleanliness to your car. The happy little cars were persuasive in selling the importance of cleanliness. I was even able to use it in encouraging my sons to keep up their cleanliness as well.

Although I told my sons that a ‘clean car is a happy car’ and the ‘clean cars just drive better’, I never tested it scientifically. I know I enjoyed driving them more when they were clean, both inside and out. They feel better, look better and smell better.

Although I often wash my own car, I still call up David, my detailing guy when it needs a deep and thorough cleaning. He has ways of making things shine that I wasn’t aware of or knew how to do.

In a similar way, you can enjoy your marriage more when things are cleaned up as well. It may be simple things like cleaning up your hygiene, breaking bad habits and fulfilling promises made.

Those simple things go a long way in cleaning up your relationship. One area that always pays dividends is improving communication.

You need good communication when it comes to solving problems, making future plans or just staying on top of daily responsibilities. Although you could improve these things on your own, if you’ve like most couples, you haven’t done it.

You still need times of deep and thorough cleaning in your relationship. In the “30 Days to a Better Marriage Program” you can get the deep cleaning of bad communication habits that your relationship needs.

In following the daily steps, you can have a better, cleaner marriage in the next 30 days. By following the program, you’ll systematically take steps transforming your relationship. You don’t have to settle for a marriage you put up with. Instead, you can have one where the two of you connect with each other.

Keeping It Real,

Jeff
