Programming to Cheat

There are times I miss the camaraderie of being part of a group.  When I was in a group practice, I met with the other therapists and we shared our concerns and challenges.

The insightful conversations between therapists were always fascinating, especially when we compared notes on childhood sexual abuse. Shockingly, we discovered that some of the abuse followed a pattern of grooming the victims for future sexual activities.

This realization was horrifying and made me consider the profound consequences of such abuse. It turns out that some victims were being programmed to cheat later in life, leaving us therapists to clean up the messes left behind. The chilling possibility of people being programmed for infidelity was a disturbing revelation, even before the stories of MKUltra and Sex Kitten programming became widely known.

Although I had initially shelved the conversations I had with with Randy and others about being programmed to cheat. I have come to revisit the possibility of early childhood abuse as a form of programming in certain situations. Childhood trauma, especially sexual trauma, is incredibly impactful and can shape individuals in unexpected ways. When affairs occur, these earlier traumas resurface, creating a ripple effect that disrupts lives. The programming leaves a powerful scar that triggers future behaviors. The traumas have ways of changing whole nervous systems.

That’s why it’s crucial to address and heal from affair traumas, as they can exacerbate already challenging recovery processes. The shame and traumatic bonding are issues that need attention. When not addressed, they create situations where cheating patterns continue.

In my video, “Overcoming Affair Trauma,” I provide guidance on breaking free from the trauma mindset and realizing your resilience in navigating difficult situations. Don’t let old memories and traumas control you – you can move past the pain and bring peace of mind back into your life.

Keeping It Real,

Jeff
