Ways to deal with competition

In surviving an affair, there are many people, matters and events that will be competing for the attention of you and your spouse. In this post, the focus will be on competing with the other person. In competing with the “other person”, it will be important to use your strong points, not try to compete where they are strong and you are weak. If your competition is a 23-year old, you will not have the looks or the body to compete in those areas. Compete where you are strong, not where they are strong. You know what your spouse likes to eat, you know where they like to go, the music they prefer. If there is a significant age gap, you will have an edge on them by having more in common with your spouse.

Getting enlargements of body parts is not the best of solutions. Such interventions draw attention to the physical attributes of yourself, when what you want is for them to be interested in you.

You know what to talk about with your spouse. Although you may have to brush up on a few things, you have the edge here. When you are together wear their favorite cologne or perfume. Play their favorite music, cook their favorite meal. These are areas where you can beat the competition and regain the attention and affection of your spouse.

One of the first rules in military strategy is to not fight on ground of the enemies choosing.  In your situation, fight where you are strong. It is easier to improve a strength than it is to improve a weakness. Use that to your advantage, if you choose to compete.
