One of the scars of an affair is the damage it does to self-confidence. People who were once sure fo themselves now question almost every aspect of their lives. Since an affair impacts people on a personal level, the very foundation of their identity and confidence is shaken. Affairs have a way of robbing people of energy, enthusiasm, and peace of mind like few other things do. Having one’s house robbed can shake up your peace of mind as well and remove any sense of security you once had. An affair is like someone robbing your heart of its most precious belongings. There are fears that it might happen again, that it might not be over and is it worth it? These feelings and thoughts drain the resolute spouse of all their confidence.
You can make it even if you do not feel like you have the energy or enthusiasm. These thoughts and feelings are like mirages. The only difference is that instead of giving you hope, they rob you of it. Avoid giving into these mirages.
