Uxoricide and other dangers of affairs

Infidelity carries with it many dangers regarding many aspects of our lives. In researching affairs and the issues related to them, the numbers show some surprising results. Although there is an increased danger of  wives being killed by one’s spouse when an affair comes to light, there is also a great danger is of husbands being killed by wives.  (The term for that is Uxoricide). There is a danger either way, although finding that the risk is greater for the husband than for the wife was surprising. More men are charged for murder. A surprising finding is that women represent 41% of persons convicted of killing their spouses.  The risk of domestic murder is greater for incidents of infidelity than for other forms. Another fascination pattern was that the potential for murder and domestic violence was greater in couples where there is an age difference of 7 or more years in age.

The risk for violence is also greater if the spouses come from a broken home or if there is alcohol/drugs involved. Since so many affairs involve alcohol, the risk is already at work when the affair begins.

With affairs, one is taking their chances. It behooves those considering an affair to ‘count the cost’ before you give into the impulse.
