The news is filled with accounts of oil spills, terror attacks, riots and political punditry. What many people forget is that the life of any nation is its families. When the family structure is weakened or destroyed, the strength of the nation is compromised. With all the dangers running rampant, little attention is paid to strengthening marriages or reducing the dangers of the threats to marriage.
A threat to your marriage will impact your life and family quicker and in a more permanent manner than many of the items given attention in the news. Saving the environment is nice, but if you have not saved your marriage and family, recycling will not change your life.
With today being the National Day of Prayer, it would be a good thing to pray for your marriage and the marriages of those close to you. They need strengthening, the need commitment. A strong marriage will do more for your child’s self-esteem than months of therapy would accomplish. Along with strengthening your marriage, consider praying to avoid temptation and re-commit to your spouse. This would be an excellent opportunity to improve your life and the lives around you.
