Someone or something is going to die

As harsh as it sounds, when cheating occurs, someone or something is going to die. When I tell clients this, they seem shocked. Many had thought that cheating was all fun and games. The reality is that cheating is not fun and games. There are no giggles and grins about cheating. Cheating is serious and the consequences are serious.

The risk of homicide and suicide are higher with cheating than at other times. If you or someone else does not loose your life, it may instead be the loss of a marriage, a love relationship, a relationship with your children or the loss of your own peace of mind. Something will die! Life will not go back to the way it was. Yes, relationships can be healed, but along the way, something has to die, even if it is your selfishness.

Realizing this harsh reality is akin to looking at the price tag. The price tag is high, it is VERY HIGH. It is greater than many people want to consider. Most cheaters only look at the short term gain they would obtain from the affair. They rarely if ever consider the full price tag of what it will cost when “Paid In Full”. Some affairs are not paid in full until several generations pass. The payments are not only larger than you assumed, they also last longer than you assumed. Sadly, there are some people that cheat because their parents cheat, who saw their parents cheat. They may think that cheating is a part of life. They may want to ignore the price tag. You can ignore, but it is still there. You can put perfume on it, and make it pretty, but it is still cheating, and it carries a large price tag.

So before you go out and consider cheating as an option, thinking only of yourself, realize it does have a price tag that is far beyond what we are wanting to pay.
