Yesterday, I addressed the risks of heart attacks associated with affairs. If you are a scholarly type, I included links to the research articles. Affairs are a matter of life and death. If the increased risk of heart attacks do not wake you up, perhaps sexually transmitted diseases will. The area where STD’s have increased recently is with the elderly. Yes, even the elderly have affairs and sleep around. Age does not mean that you are immune from the dangers. Even Dr. Ruth Westheimer is concerned about this increase. The attitude of “It can’t happen to me” is one of the contributing risk factors. The elderly do not have the corner on that market. Many cheaters have the attitude ‘It can’t happen to me!” It can and often does happen.
This is a concern for the cheater and for you. If the cheater has it, they have likely exposed you to it as well. This is a risk that you need to discuss with the cheater, even when they do not want to discuss it.
