Some cheaters relish the idea that they may have beat ‘the system’. They found a way to indulge in their desires outside of marriage and there was no lightning bolt that immediately struck them down. They assume that the lack of immediate consequences for their action, means that everything is alright. It is as if the cheater wants to cheat you and God at the same time.
They may rationalize their choice claiming that “God wants me to be happy!” or its twin, “God would not want me to be unhappy in our marriage!” The cheater often does not realize that at that moment they are creating a God in their own image, and not the one associated with the Bible. That God made adultery a capitol offense, which carried with it the death penalty. There are also passages that make it clear that God does not change over time, even though men change the penalties for immoral acts. When the modern adulterer cheats, they are often unaware that the ancient penalty for what they are doing is death. The laws may have changed, yet the laws of cause and effect remain. When a person cheats, there are consequences. The consequences may not be immediate, yet I can assure you that they are still there. I often tell clients that ‘Affairs always end in death’. For some it is a physical death, for others, it may be spiritual, emotional, relational or psychological death. The affair often kills the trust in the marriage relationship. The affair destroys the reputation of the cheater, and the family relations are often scared for years in the aftermath of an affair.
The cheater may not have faced immediate capitol punishment, but that does not mean that there were no negative repercussions from what they did. The repercussions may not be immediate, but they will come. The law of cause and effect starts working as the affair unfolds. You can not cheat the law of cause and effect, no matter how good your lawyer is, or how smart you are, there will be consequences. If you prefer, you can call the law of cause and effect ‘karma’. Whatever you choose to call it, when the affair begins, since it is a relationship based on deception, lies and poor impulse control, there will be an effect, that you may delay, but you can not escape.

Well said….I know that the entire length of deception in our marriage “STOLE” or “TOOK THE LIFE” that was supposed to be OUR “life” ….all those years were not just lost …they were “not’ …phoney …especially since a man is the HEAD …of the marriage and family in this earthly aspect.
The head of anything effects all who are OF the company , country …but especially the marriage and family
A good reason why the MAN of the family is charged with a GREAT responsibility .
The lack of knowledge and understanding of this has caused damage to all kinds of building blocks in the lives of others in the family when a man cheats …and to society as the broken and walking wounded of his family have to deal .
God has truth and healing available found in a relationship with HIM but the charge to a man when he asks the Lord for ONE woman to care for and promises to do so ..and the wife believes him and trusts him to keep his word TO GOD …there is a LOT of fall out when he defaults
Many of the women who are today’s solicitors of married men are those who came from families of absentee or fair weather fathers and have spend much of their maturing lives seeking what a father was suppose to do in building up her self worth and what she should expect from young men .
Values that demonstrated the value of the wisdom that God provides in all ways for life…and the reasons to love and fear the God who has provided all of what we need to know to PROTECT our lives from various temptations.
Sad state …it continues as people are as God told us ‘destroyed for lack of knowledge ” of HIS word and what he was talking about …not just assuming they know but doing what GOD said ..to seek DAILY not just a dutiful ‘read’ but a dialogue experience while reading involving asking the author who inspired men to write what he did …what HE means and intends us to understand !
A life lived in ‘death’ is no life indeed.
Jam 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Hope is not a limited commodity …faith is and open door for “WHOMSOEVER WILL ” ….
Jam 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Jam 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his OWN lust, and enticed.
Jam 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin,

Jam 1:22 But be ye DOERS OF THE WORD , and not hearers only, deceiving YOUR OWN SELVES
The Lord wants this FOR US …and commands us for HIS glory and OUR good ….maybe we need to allow His word to ‘talk’ to us ..by heeding it daily ..and growing more and more ….the walk after HIM is worthy of our time and attention .
Death is not the ‘fun ‘ that many have been ‘deceiving themSELVES it is ….’
God’s offer is AWESOME …!
