Who’s the fool?

With it being April Fool’s Day, I considered the question of “Who’s the fool?” in regards to affairs. The lover is often taken with the cheaters lies and false promises. There are a few cases where the cheater is taken in and seduced by the lover, yet I consider the lover as the one who is fooled in most cases.

Besides the lover, there is the one who is being cheated on. You also have been fooled by the deception of the cheater. In your case, you live with them and have married them. You may not have wanted to see the truth.

The lover, on the other hand knows that they are playing the dating game, you on the other hand assumed that game was over. Anyone who plays that game runs the risk of being played the fool. The cheater knows that they are playing you and they often think that they are clever for having done so.

Then there are the family members of the cheater who want to think the best of the cheater. They make excuses for them and choose to remain blind to what is actually taking place.

Although the cheater, the lover and others may play head games trying to hide the wrongness of their actions, God is never fooled. The cheater, the lover and their band of dupes use excuses like “they deserve to be happy!” or “God does not want anyone to be miserable.” or “they finally found someone” like mantras to kill off their conscience. Despite the number of games or the cleverness of them, God is never fooled. They may deny that He exists, or lie to themselves about what He is like or the wrongness of their actions, but in the end, they are only fooling themselves.

In the end, the biggest fool are the ones who believe their own lies, and encourage others to do so as well. The ones who remain blind to the true nature and danger of what they are doing and its effects on others.

    Psa 53:1

[[To the chief Musician upon Mahalath, Maschil, [A Psalm] of David.]]

[there is] none that doeth good.

    1Cr 1:20

    Where is the wise?

    where is the scribe?

where [is] the disputer of this world?

but the fool rageth, and is confident.

but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The Devil makes fools of any of us who will not receive the Word of God with meekness and gratitude for God’s wonderful mercy and provision of His Son for whomsoever will ….deny themself, take up their cross and Follow Him!
