In today’s society, you often hear about ‘preventative’ medicine. In many grocery stores and pharmacies you see advertisements for vaccinations covering a wide variety of ailments. Each of these vaccinations are presented as being a way to prevent illness. When you are surrounded by such a culture, you may start developing the assumption that medicine and healthcare can prevent anything. You assume that they know how to treat every disorder. You may have assumed that since they have pills that can prevent drinking alcohol, why can’t they develop a vaccination to prevent affairs?
The question is a thought provoking one. Presently, the technology does not exist, and if it did, I do not think you would really want to use it. There are chemicals that reduce sex drive, and pills that increase sex drive along with arousal. When you introduce chemicals into your relationships, you are adding something artificial and loosing some control each time you trust in the chemicals. The mindset of one drug to activate things and one to turn them off leads to a reliance on the chemicals to control rather than the person developing self-discipline. Since the biggest part of affairs happens in the mind, which can often over-ride the effects of chemicals, the use of chemicals becomes pointless.
If you could control your spouse through vaccinations, or pills, then you have a pet or a slave, not a spouse. A marriage requires two adults freely choosing to be with each other. When there is coercion, be it physical or chemical, then you have a relationship based on control or domination rather than one based on love.
A further problem with an affair vaccination is that they are often composed of weakened strains of the targeted illness. Giving your spouse a weakened strain of ‘an affair’ often leads to more affairs, not less. This kind of thinking is what some couples use with the ‘hall pass’ mindset. By allowing even a controlled or weakened variant of affair, you are exposing them and yourself to danger and destruction.
There is no affair vaccination. In the event is existed, there are many issues you would need to consider before using it.
