Which has better odds? Russian Roulette or Affairs

I read an article today where the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) announced that the United States has 110,197,000 STD cases (Sexually Transmitted Diseases). 110 Million is a LARGE number. To make this number more understandable to you and your spouse consider that the United States has roughly about 330 Million people. This means that when you have an affair, you have a 1 in 3 chance of catching a STD. With typical Russian Roulette, you have a 1 in 6 chance of being killed. Here you have a 1 in 3 chance. It is like playing Russian Roulette with two bullets rather than one.

Although it is not fun to consider, whenever you cheat, you are taking chances. The old expression about getting lucky used to refer to whether or not a person scored, now it may be referring to whether or not you manage avoiding catching some contagious disease. The current rate of infection (20 million each year) is also a matter of concern. Affairs really are a matter of life and death.

In terms of survival, the scary reality is that you have better odds of surviving Russian Roulette than you do coming out an affair unscathed.

  1. This is horrifying to find that the CS did not care about this. When I mentioned this to my husband …about AIDS in particular he said that it was not that known back then [1992]! It most certainly WAS known …and condoms do not protect as some might think ., I read one article that said that the AIDS virus was smaller than the spaces between the molecular structure of the materials that condoms are made of .

I am not a scientist but even if this were not a trackable bit of information I still recognize the failure of condoms to protect, I believe the disinformation regarding this form of ‘protection’ is simply unconscionable and it is even worse when you think of the young children being taught these things in school as low as grade school now.

I heard of some areas where some as young as 6 and 7 were being paired off boy / girl and being told to practice putting a condom on a banana! This is outrageous! If I had not been in the public schools and observed it ‘s decline in many areas of how and what is taught I would not have believe this .

For a CS to risk his own health with a family to protect and provide for is hard to believe but to think that they do not even seem to care about passing diseases on to their spouse is something simply too hard to understand.

I have observed how much my husband has cared about others and been so compassionate and yet been so blithe about this area when it came to other women and not only MY health exposure but even our children.

Some STDS are not just passed along by way of sexual activity but can be transferred in other ways such as kissing ….and some just by skin to skin contact.

Why risk all of this grief for a lousy ORGASM!

To think they have it ALL at home but still want to justify something ‘extra’ is another testimony of something beyond reason don’t you think!

    1. Zaza,

You are definitely an intelligent woman. Few people realize that condoms are not the safe option they are advertized to be. If the general public knew the truth, they would be up in arms. I always found it interesting how the CDC precautions for laboratory workers involve all bodily fluids, including saliva, etc., yet they downplay that risk to the public.

  2. Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Eph 5:15 ¶ See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Eph 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Ecc 7:4 The heart of the wise [is] in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools [is] in the house of mirth.

1Cr 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

And Isaiah 3 comes to mind….
