Today I want to talk to you about a secret weapon the other woman is using against you. While you are wondering what she’s up to, she’s busy using her secret weapon.
If you think it’s sex, you’re wrong. Her secret weapon isn’t sex. If it were, that would be easier to fix.
One of the truths I’ve shared is “Investing in your relationship always pays dividends’. This is the key to the other woman’s secret weapon.
The other woman is spending her time and attention on building up her relationship with your spouse. She’s showing interest and asking insightful questions.
She shows admiration for him. Her efforts are paying off. She’s making the effort to get closer to your spouse and understand them.
When you invest in your relationship, there will be results. It could be that you’ve been making some bad investments.
If your investments in your marriage consist of criticizing, fault-finding and name calling, you don’t stand a chance. If you’ve been building walls and withdrawing rather than building connections with your spouse, you’re marriage is broken already.
Your investment is paying off, yet in a negative direction.
In the fight to save your marriage, you need ways of connecting with your spouse rather than distancing yourself from them. You may know how to get along, or hooking up, but investing in your marriage takes more than that.
You need ways of sparking interest, making connection, and ways of making your connections stronger. Chances are that you never learned those skills from your parents or in school.
You were expected to know them even though you’ve never been taught. Do you know ‘how’ to connect with your spouse in a way that gets their attention without attacking them?
Do you know how to show interest in them?
The other woman has those skills and she’s using them. Her investment is paying off.
Being the wife, you have an advantage you may not be aware of. This means when you use the same investments, you’ll obtain better results.
