You’re not going crazy!

Have you ever experienced a situation where certain sensations or memories resurface unexpectedly? Maybe it’s a certain smell that triggers a flood of emotions or a feeling of fear that seems to have no explanation. Well, there’s actually a scientific reason for this phenomenon – it’s called body memories.

Our bodies are incredible recorders of experiences, even ones that our minds may have forgotten or blocked out. Every nerve cell in our body stores and “remembers” what it has been through, whether it’s physical trauma or an uncomfortable encounter. So when certain stimuli, like a touch or a smell, activate those nerve cells, we may suddenly experience sensations and emotions from past events. These sensations and memories can come on without warning.

It’s important to understand that our bodies and minds don’t always communicate perfectly with each other. Sometimes, our bodies hold onto memories that our minds have repressed, leading to a feeling of being disconnected or even crazy. But really, it’s just our body trying to remind us that there’s something that needs attention and closure.

If you’ve ever been through a traumatic experience, you may have even completely blocked out the awareness of what happened. But your body still remembers. And those mysterious sensations you occasionally feel could be its way of trying to bring those memories to light.

So if you find yourself in a situation where your body is telling you one thing while your mind remembers something else, you may be dealing with Affair Trauma. But don’t worry, there’s help available. Check out the video “Overcoming Affair Trauma” for guidance on how to move forward and heal.

Remember, our bodies are always trying to keep it real and remind us of what we’ve been through. It’s up to us to listen and take care of ourselves.

Keeping It Real,

Jeff
