Ethics and healing

Being a counselor, it is important to approach issues such as affairs in an ethical manner. Even in posting on a blog, since a counselor’s words are given weight, those words also carry with them responsibility. Part of that responsibility involves addressing the issues without exploiting those involved. If you are looking for testimonials on my site you will not find them. If you are looking for juicy stories, or detailed tidbits, you will not find those either.

You will not find personal testimonials on my website, because they are not ethical. When an affair happens, the people have been taken advantage of and exploited already. They are vulnerable. While in a vulnerable place, it would be exploitative if they were taken advantage of while in that state. Although there are resources out there that have plenty of testimonials and personal statements that are part of their marketing, licensed counselors are to adhere to standards that rise above such marketing ploys. When looking for help during your time of vulnerability after an affair occurs, ethics are important to consider. If someone has already exploited persons who went through an affair, consider whether their product will not take advantage of you now.

On my site, I will give you lessons that I have learned from dealing with couples. You will benefit from the experiences of others without their personal stories being broadcast across the internet. You will learn what you can do to get through the difficult times. You will gain hope for a situation that often seems endless and hopeless.

Best Regards,

Jeff Murrah
