In recent news, a communist Chinese government official, Pang Jiayu had acquired eleven mistresses. The mistresses were upset with their husbands lives being threatened, leading them to cooperate on bringing down the official. Although ‘second wives’ are tolerated in China, there is still disapproval of affairs getting into the news. Such stories remind us that an affair is not a victimless crime, it has consequences and effects the lives of all those around us.
