The vast array of excuses people use to justify having an affair are amazing. They run the spectrum from “God said I could have as many wives as I want” to “God wouldn’t want me to be unhappy, would he?” The intertwining of God in with their excuses somehow makes their acts more tolerable to themselves and eases their conscience. With some of the excuse makers, their motivation is one of sexual recreation, rather than learning how to really love or have a relationship. Those with multiple or serial relationships often repeat the same mistakes over and over. The person may deserve some happiness, but seeking it by turning people into sexual chattel is not the solution. The solution lies in learning how to make the most of the relationships that do exist. Consider learning how to love the person you are married to and you may be amazed at the happiness that you experience.
