Trusting your gut about the Affair

Since you’re dealing with an affair situation, I need to ask, “What’s your gut telling you?“.  Although that may seem like an odd question, think about it.

How often has your gut lead you astray or told you something wrong?” If you’re like most of the people I have talked to, it’s rare if ever that your gut has led you wrong.

One of the first mistakes that you may have made in dealing with the affair is that of ignoring your gut. You probably knew something wasn’t right long before you mentally acknowledged it.

Now that you’re working through things, one of the steps you need to take is learning to listen to and follow your gut.

Although your brain is filled with many nerves and cells designed to process information, surprisingly so is your gut. Your gut contains nerve cells as well.

Anytime you’re nervous, you may even experience reactions in your gut. Those nerve cells are sensitive to minute changes your brain is oblivious to.

Your brain isn’t stupid, it just hasn’t made sense out of what’s going on yet.  Your gut on the other hand, let’s you know when things don’t feel right.

Many times your gut senses things long before your conscious brain even knows what’s going on. It picks up on sensations before you know what they’re about.

Your gut knows things before your brain does. Now that you’re working through issues and wondering who to trust, start with yourself. Trust your gut.

Your heart may lead you astray, since it  gets caught up in things so it has to be taken with caution, but your gut….How often has it led you astray?

It is a challenge sorting out what your head, heart and gut are telling you. Learning to tell the difference between them takes time and practice. The more you practice it, the better you will be at listening to them.

So, as you head into this holiday season, when your senses and emotions are assaulted on every side, don’t forget to listen to your gut.
