Happiness and Affairs

Although Hollywood and the Affair Service companies promote the idea that “You deserve to be happy!” and offer an affair as the solution, have you thought that proposition through? Would an affair make you happy? They often bring momentary grins and giggles, yet do little to remove the guilt or regret they bring with them. They bring danger and excitement. It is that danger that is often confused with passion. Because you are ‘turned on’ at the prospect of cheating, you may think that you ‘love’ the lover, when all that is going on is that your hormones are in overdrive dealing with something new and stimulating.

Since lovers often indulge your sexual whims, they may do things that your spouse does not. That does not mean they love you more, it only means that they have lower standards. Lovers often lower their standards in order to catch their next victim. Once you are caught, things will change. The one thing that you wanted, in the form of happiness is not there. Happiness is dependent on ‘things happening’ around you. It depends on a three ring circus of stimulation. When the circus is over, the animals have to be put in their cages and the circus moves on to the next town and paying customers.
