How Affairs effect your health

Have you ever considered how affairs effect your health? In previous posts I have shared with you how an affair dramatically increases your chances of being a homicide statistic.

The risk of heart attack is greater for cheaters than non-cheaters. The likelihood of your life or your spouse’s life being shortened by death is much greater by having an affair.

The crime statistics show that affairs are definitely a factor in the deaths of many spouses. Setting aside the risk of death from homicide, there are other ways that affairs effect your health and the health of your spouse.

These include the increased risk of communicable diseases being spread. In the event that HIV is brought into your home, your health will definitely be impacted. Recall that no cure has been found for herpes either.

If you’re fortunate enough to not be exposed to communicable diseases, then you have the stress-related conditions to deal with. This includes increased blood pressure, overstimulated gastrointestinal conditions, overstimulated bruxism (clenching your teeth), and the impact of stress on your cardiac system.

Since the stress of affairs impacts people in different ways, how it shows up will vary from person to person. Although the affair may not have caused health related problems, they sure put a strain on them, making any impaired health condition worse.

Even if you escape the somatic problems, there’s the risk of increased alcohol or drug intake related to coping with the situation.

It’s likely that there are more connections between health issues and infidelity than you or your spouse realized or admit. It’s often easier to view the health problems as stand alone issues rather than look at them in the context of how they fit into the context of dealing with an affair.

The health issues are also not limited to the cheater, you also may be experiencing health issues that were aggravated by the affair. The health problems are part of the scar that affairs leave on your life.

So in response to the question, “How affairs  your health?” You are now aware of the answer. How the effect happens and how much effect happens vary. What is clear is that affairs change you and change your health.
