What needs to be restored in my marriage?

You know when there’s an affair that something needs to be done. Although you know something needs to be done, you may find yourself wondering “What needs to be fixed or restored in my marriage?”

A better question would be “How can I improve my marriage?” If your marriage wasn’t working, efforts made at restoring it of fixing something that was dysfunctional are wasted efforts.

Each marriage is different and what’s needed for improvement is different. It may be that the two of you need to be emotionally closer to each other.

It could be that both of you need to talk about your relationship in a way that you never did before. It could be that the two of you need to discuss what you need from each other and work together in coming up with ways of meeting those needs.

It could be that the two of you just need an emotional tune up, with encouragement and support.

It could be that the two of you need to rediscover the joy of each other’s company and have fun with each other.

It’s hard fixing a relationship or improving it when you don’t know what’s missing or wrong with it. When you grow up in a dysfunctional family or had a dysfunctional marriage, you may have gotten so used to it that you don’t recognize healthy and functional.

If you don’t know what healthy looks like, that may be where you need to start in improving your marriage.

Healthy relationships are those where you can disagree or discuss what you need from each other while managing to stay in relationship with each other. Healthy relationships are where you celebrate each others achievements. You want the best for each other.

You give and share without strings attached. You enjoy and look forward to each others company. If your marriage is missing these things, that will give you a place to start on where to improve your marriage.

If you want step by step instructions on improving your marriage, you’ll want the “30 Days to a Better Marriage” program. During the course of the program, you’ll learn key items for transforming your marriage. You’ll be taking it from alright to good.

Life is too short for putting up with just an alright marriage.

Best Regards,

Jeff
