There are times I wonder if the modern press has lost their minds. I figure it’s either the modern press or the masses that purchase and consume what they pump out.
I read the latest news coming out promoting infidelity and wonder “How can they say this?”
What has me posing this question is an article pointing out how the number of married couples who knowingly allow affairs has doubled in the past year.
With a claim like that I had to check the source. On checking the source, references are made to the latest sexpert advocating ‘open relationships’ or the catchy term ‘transparent infidelity’.
This is just the latest repackaging of the old ‘hall pass’. On digging deeper into what makes the sexpert an expert, I’m still not clear.
I find little information on her background or training. I make it a point to answer the question ‘Why should I listen to you?’
Finding the answer to that question can save you many heartaches, especially when your marriage is at stake. There’s always going to be someone telling the cheater what they want to hear, which is why you need to check them out. The ‘about’ section of websites can help you with this.
Anytime you find some expert being promoted in the media you need to investigate further. The old saying “It sounds too good to be true” is still worth noting.
When experts promote infidelity without guilt or remorse I wonder how they manage re-wiring people’s emotions and morals. The only people I’ve found without guilt, remorse or consequences when it comes to affairs are sociopaths (and a few brain damage situations).
When the “expert” is promoting the break-up of your marriage, you should look even closer into their background. These days the person promoting themselves as the expert may only be expert at marketing themselves rather than being qualified or experienced.
