2020 The Year that keeps on giving

The year 2020 brought many radical changes around the world. Along with those changes came stress in places you never expected. Some of the changes were good and some not so good. Whether good or bad, those changes produce stress.

The year has brought political stress, health stress, job stress and financial stresses to the forefront of your life. The forced changes in how you live and your daily routine is stressing.

Unusual stresses have ways of taking you to places you never thought of going before. It also puts unusual stresses on your marriage.

Some people just snap or do things totally out of character for themselves. They do things you never thought they would do.

One of the consequences of unusual pressures is that unusual solutions are considered. Unfortunately, having an affair is one of the unusual solutions some spouses consider in dealing with stressors.

They may have never seriously considered an affair before, yet the weirdness of 2020 took their head and heart to new places. Those pressures have them looking at affairs in a whole new light.

They dare consider the affair as a solution to the problems they’re going through.

When affairs are viewed as a solution, they bring more problems. Affairs take your mind off things, but create a whole swarm of other baggage with them.

I assure you affairs always have extra baggage. It comes in the form of blackmail, pregnancies, threats, expenses and stalking just to mention a few.

When affairs are viewed as a solution to any problem, it’s a short-sighted choice. The cheater only considered the short-term feel goodies rather than the long term impact.

Short-term solutions to problems never bring a lasting resolution. It also shows impulsive decision making.

The long term prospect of affairs is negative. They end up costing you more pain which far outweighs any pleasure they promise.

If 2020 brought an affair into your marriage, now is the time for doing something about it. Choices can be made in repairing the damage that short term solution brought into your life.

A place to start is with the video “Help for the Cheater: Starting the Road to Recovery”. It guides the cheater through the first steps needed in turning the situation around.

Keeping It Real,
