The top Infidelity stories of 2021

About this time of year,  I share my top  infidelity stories from the news.

One of the differences this year is how allegations of infidelity arise when politicians start taking stands or speaking out on current issues.  The timing of the allegations left me wondering if they actually happened or if it was character assassination driven by politics.

  1. The exposure of Bill Gate’s infidelities. The man wants to tell us how to live, yet sets a poor example in terms of moral character.
  2. The increased use of the term ‘trauma trigger’ when talking about infidelity
  3. Mehgan James came out stating she believes in ‘cheating respectfully’.
  4. Researchers use machine learning to identify predictors of infidelity.
  5. Researchers are addressing the topic of ‘infidelity with sex robots’.

I’m limiting it to the top five since Hollywood types and politicians having affairs is nothing new. The only twist is the inclusion of the former astronaut politician to the mix. As the Ghislane Maxwell trial continues, the list of adulterers exposed grows. The major new part is how the mainstream media cover up stories or excuse the adulterous behavior.

What these stories tell me is that besides being a major issue, the COVID-19/Coronavirus was a major player in both discovering and promoting affairs. The lockdown continued forcing many of you to address relationship issues that had been ignored or downplayed. The ‘rona forced you to come face to face honesty about intimacy and sex-related issues between you and your spouse.

Politicians and celebrities forget that they are public figures who are supposed to be an example of good behavior rather than indulging their basest appetites even those involving models and babysitters. I hesitate to identify the specific people since backlash daring to mention some people is taken out of context these days.

The over-reaction of people to pointing out infidelity makes honest and open discussion of matters or lessons learned from their lives difficult if not impossible.

What is possible is taking steps to improve your marriage and recover from any affairs that happened there. The stories make it clear that money, fame and influence won’t protect your marriage from infidelity.
