Bitches in Vegas

In the city known for its secrets, I found myself tangled in a web of peculiar events. One particular encounter left my mind swirling. Picture this: four middle-aged women, donning red shirts reminiscent of Dr. Seuss’ “The Cat in the Hat”, stamped with bold lettering: “Bitch #1, Bitch #2, Bitch #3, and Bitch #4”. Their shirts, resembling the iconic characters, captivated the attention of all who walked the strip.

I was so captivated by their audacious fashion statement that I completely overlooked any hint of their physical attractiveness. If my visit had solely been about revelry and games, perhaps I would have seen it in a different light. However, it was just moments after attending a conference on trauma and the damaging effects of negative self-labels.

Leaving the conference, where I learned about the perilous ways trauma victims harm themselves through name-calling, self-harm, and negative associations, I found myself bewildered by this group’s choice in self-labelling. Why would these women stoop so low? Growing up, my grandmother instilled in me the belief that true beauty comes from within, emphasizing the importance of self-respect.

While some individuals, like yourself, grapple with negative self-perception, these women seemed to wear the label “bitch” as a source of amusement. Little did they realize the power of names and labels. I couldn’t help but question the consequences of believing in and accepting the identity bestowed upon them. How would others view and treat them?

This encounter forced me to reflect on the impact of such labels. Many of you may carry similar burdens from past traumas. And though these women can simply remove their shirts and erase the label, the weight of trauma-induced labels lingers long after the event has passed. The labels you put on yourself after a trauma is indelible. That label does not wash off.

In my video, “Overcoming Affair Trauma,” I offer guidance on embarking on a healing journey and shedding the labels that haunt your thoughts. Given that affair trauma often reawakens other past wounds, this video will also assist you in tending to those old scars.

Together, we will learn to calm our minds and bodies, ultimately regaining control and triumphing over the labels that have haunted us for far too long. Remember, what happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but the scars of trauma follow us wherever we go.

With utmost sincerity,

Jeff
