What is your hope in?
Have you given any thought to what your hope in is concerning the affair? You know how important hope is, along with wanting more of it, yet few have considered what the foundation of their hope is.
When your hope is in a person, they will likely let you down. As humans we often let others down.
We often have the best of intentions, only to end up letting others down. When hope is in a person, sooner or later, their behavior will disappoint you. When their behavior disappoints, your foundation for hope is gone.
When you hope in the ‘good intentions’, you’re hoping for good things without a solid foundation. Intentions give you inspiration, but has little substance.
One of the good things about intentions is that a few lapses in behavior doesn’t destroy your hope. The lapses in behavior are viewed as stumbling along the way.
When you hope in ‘promises’, the promises is only as good as the person’s reputation and power. If they have a good reputation and power, your hope has a solid foundation.
If their reputation is lackluster or they do not have the power to perform their promises, you’ll be disappointed.
Hope needs a solid foundation, even more so when it is tested. You need hope to get through the storms, threats, disappointments and challenges. Hope often gives you the motivation to get out of bed and give things another try.
Hope is a good thing, a necessary thing. For this reason, you need to consider what or who do you put your hope in. You disappointment may not be because you had no hope, but instead the person or thing you hoped in was misplaced.
You may be doing the right things, but putting your hope in the wrong place. Misplaced hope can be redirected.
