Hearing references to ‘cheap perfume’ leads me to recall the Journey song from my youth “Don’t Stop Believin” and the country song “Cheap perfume and candlelight”. Although these songs talk about someone smelling of cheap perfume, some of you have faced that situation in real life.
Smells are one of the signs of an affair that cheaters seldom or rarely consider. They are too busy covering their tracks on the phone or social media, they seldom consider scent.
They’re so accustomed to the smell of the perfume of their lover, they are scent blind to it. So, if their lover continues wearing the same scent, they get to the point they don’t notice it as much. When they don’t notice it, they don’t take steps to hide it from you.
That’s bad news for them as it alerts you to a dangerous relationship developing. When you pick up on unfamiliar scents, it alerts you to dangers.
What’s considered ‘cheap perfume’ typically perfumes that have a sweeter side to them. Since sweeter perfumes are favored by younger females, that unfamiliar smell is alerting you that the potential AP is also younger.
Wearing a different perfume might make them suspicious, but what better excuse to buy new perfume than Valentine’s Day. And that’s also good timing since many affairs start once the New Year’s resolutions are dropped in February or March.
You know what scents you wear, and also what you don’t. Your nose is giving you a clue worth noting. When someone is close enough to have scents left behind, they’re too close.
Whether or not your spouse admits to an affair, your nose isn’t leading you astray. So when your nose tells you something, it’s something worth paying attention to.
They can hide or delete things on their phone. It’s not so easy hiding scents from their clothes, car, and body. Scents can’t be deleted so easily.
Their clothes are likely washed in the same detergent. Their car is parked in your garage. Their body walks by you every day. They may not think they’re leaving scents behind, but their nose isn’t scent blind to them.
Things smelling too clean or too unscented is a danger sign as well. The lack of scents tells you that they’ve cleaned themselves up. If there was no reason for cleaning up that thoroughly, it’s a danger sign as well.
When you smell an affair, it’s time for action. Those smells didn’t just jump on your spouse without a reason. Any unfamiliar perfumes need your attention and questioning.
