Tools for relationships?

As you consider what your options are in dealing with an affair, it is important to consider whether or not you have the needed tools. Do you have what it takes to make a relationship work? Do you have the patience, love, courage, honesty, and communication skills needed to navigate through the aftermath of an affair. Affairs often damage relationships down to their foundational core. Although forgiveness is always good, repairing the damage from an affair requires more than forgiveness. Forgiveness often covers the damage, but does little to strengthen or improve the relationship. The damage associated from affairs often began before the affair transpired. The affair only makes the damage worse and draws attention to it. The relationship will need to be repaired, rather than just be given a new paint job and exterior detailing. Repairs often mean replacing the foundational portions of the relationship. It requires new outlooks, new ways of doing things and strengthening of what you structures do exist in the relationship.
