If you are wanting a sure deal, where you can have a 100% guarantee that something you do will magically return the trust to where it was,..you are chasing a fantasy. The process of rebuilding the trust involves risk. There is always the possibility that the cheater or you will do something to damage the trust.
Why must trust have risks?
Trust by its very nature involves vulnerability. When something makes you vulnerable, there is a risk. A risk of being hurt, a risk of loss or a risk of unrequited love. Although fairy stories make it sound like you can drink a potion or somehow MAKE someone love you, the reality is that you can’t and the lover can’t do it either. Assuming that they or you can is a mistake.
