As a child merry-go-rounds are fun and entertaining. They give you the impression that you are going somewhere, with the security of going around in a familiar circle.

Thinking you are going somewhere while you are really in the same place is quite an accomplishment. It does a number on your brain. Your brain feels stimulated, and you have some security.
