One of the questions that I consider is “How did previous generations deal with infidelity?” Infidelity is not a new problem by any means, although modern technology makes it a bigger problem than it was previously. In my search for answers I came across a couple of old sayings from 19th century England. One was “True love neither ranges or changes”. Besides the catchy rhymes, this one caught my eye by the use of “ranges” which is the old way of saying ‘strays’. Range carries with it that idea that the cheater goes looking for trouble, while stray has the idea that it just ‘accidentally’ happens. Another old saw was “Let love abide until death divide”. Once again, the use of rhymes. Although schools do not teach poetry and rhyming as much as they used to, they were effective ways of getting one’s attention and keeping it. The catchy sayings served like mantras to keep people aware of what was important and maintaining the proper focus in their relationships.
These days, it is no longer married until death do us part, but rather married until I get bored or tired of you. Some even twist it into ‘married until I fall out of love’. Along the way, we, living in the 21st century have lost our bearings and focus. We need to remember that marriages are a long term commitment, and treat them as such.

Great way of putting it .
Today ‘s young ‘adults’ are not matured by godly precepts applied to them …but led away to ‘flesh pots’ as humanism and all the other ‘isms’ have been firmly set aa right ‘doctrine’ in the laboratories of social engineering called the school ‘system’ and media and church ‘providers’ of ‘wisdom of the world’
Effort is only rewarded to those who are willing to ‘lay down their ‘armor ‘ which GOD has told us to ‘put on the whole armor of GOD”
It is interesting don’t you think how each worldview is antithesis to the WORD of GOD …
The ‘body ‘ of believers have a mixture , a form of ‘miry clay’ …clay and iron…..which is weak in the face of the worlds various idolatrous offerings
The IRON of God’s word /.law is tossed in with a bit of what is more ‘palatable’ which as drawn wild beasts into the congregation that we once saw as HIS .
The ‘gathering ‘ of those following HIM is AT HIS THRONE….which is HIS …and is SPIRIT…HIS WORD
ALL who are endeavoring to ‘follow HIM” are doing so because as they read the command ..demanding our daily attention they are thus IN HIM ..as they have HIS WORDS IN them …obey them …live in and as HE has said …”I will come in and make my ABODE IN YOU”
SO it is …the spirit of the LORD IN those who are taking HIS WORDS [ spirit ] IN and keeping them by way of living and making HIS VIEW their own …is WHERE the spirit of GOD is and all are ‘gathered unto HIM ‘ there.
It is NOT a ‘location’ of or here in THIS world.
Yet we are IN the world but NOT OF it .
The ‘shopping mentality ‘ you mention has been SOLD to people as if there is NO alternative ..build upon the SANE of emotion and appetite
As we all know …appetites can be satiated ..and when something has been eaten to the full…it sometimes ceases to be satisfying …and the search goes on …for something ‘different’
In the wilderness the Isrealites whined about the manna and petitioned GOD for ‘flesh

God told us the ‘flesh profiteth nothing ‘ ….that HIS WORD is SPIRIT and it is HIS WORD/SPIRIT that ‘quickeneth’ which means MAKES ALIVE
The Israelites GOT what their flesh craved…MORE flesh …and FLESH killed them ..
ALL flesh DIES , it is the judgment as a result of the FALL when ADAM who was INFORMED and WARNED …deliberately decided what HE wanted was more important than obeying GOD and sticking to what he was GIVEN to do …which was already what “GOOD ‘ is …HE KNEW ‘good’ …but in his disobedience he learned ‘evil ‘ what it is ..and what it is is DISOBEDIENCE to GOD …in favor of obeying flesh ….
They ate flesh of quails til it came out of their nostrils
Fleshly pursuits …fill up ….and eventually kill …both the satisfaction and proper appetite…[ note: sexual perversity and homosexuality ..and beastiality all results ‘ of wanting something a little ‘more’ in that area ]
To covet when we HAVE and have plenty to do in whatever THAT domain is …leads to dissatisfaction …
Porn causes this …even if the person does not “ACT” upon his lust ..which cannot be true either because part of observing porn drives either one to self ‘medicate’ which breaks the need and skills necessary to relate to ones spouse …and USES the OTHER PERSON who may or may not be a real person …
That is USING what is what GOD tells us is HIS TEMPLE for a defiling behavior …[AWK!]
There is no ifs, ands, or buts about this …failing to be thankful and tend to what we have been given charge over …KILLS satisfaction and stirs desire ….
GOD PROVIDES us with all we need IN HIM and IN our marriage covenant …but as HE has made us in HIS image we are given the freedom to choose
IF we do not realize there are avenues that are BEST that are found in HIS word…we will be deceived and take all that is set before us as ‘normal’ and ‘acceptable’ and thus be ‘approved of man ‘ but ‘damned by the LORD ‘ UNLESS we turn and seek HIM
I pray more who are born into the darkening world will be awakened to the option of knowing GOD and learning what HE will teach them as they allow HIM to guide them into the ALL Truth of his WORDS.
And WOE is to those who lead others away from this offering of the LORD …all who teach in HIS NAME are most in danger IF they will not concern themselves with the WORD rather than pleasing men …both those in the congregation AND in their various leagues of ‘administrators’ !
Shopping till you find what suits your flesh is KILLER …better to DENY your flesh and seek out the truth at ANY cost~! Eternity is at stake.

I was not aware of the Carl Jr. thing. There are many products I do not use or patronize out of principle. It sounds like that list may be growing.
